Where Are My Pants?

In December I decided that I was going to go a full year without wearing pants, or in other words, I am going to go 365 days wearing only a skirt or dress as my main outfit every day. The secondary goal was to put some effort into my appearance (hair & makeup) and have fun with it.

So far, I haven't fared too badly. I missed two days of wearing a skirt because I didn't feel well. I spent those days in pj's. My "rules" allow for pajama pants. Any activity that can't reasonably be accomplished in a dress is also an exception. So far, working out and dancing are the only reasons I have ever worn pants outside of my house.

My reasons for doing this are constantly changing and evolving because every day I discover something new about myself. Here is what I have so far:
  1. To reclaim my will and decision-making ability.
  2. To feel better about myself. When I dress nicely, I feel better.
  3. To experiment with new hair/makeup ideas and techniques.
  4. To have fun!
It's a little thing, I know. And it probably seems a little superficial. But I've always believed that little things (even superficial ones) can cause great change, and this is really changing things. The decision to wear only skirts for a year led to the decision to blog about it, and being able to write about my experiences and thoughts about life has been extremely therapeutic.

Oh, and I don't know where my pants are.
